Located at the base of Beaver Creek Resort adjacent to the main welcome gate, Avon, Colorado is comprised of many restaurants, hotels, and other amenities. It is small enough to walk around, but offers a free daily shuttle connecting the town to Beaver Creek Village as well as major lodging, dining, and shopping hubs within city limits.

Avon


History: Avon hasn’t always been the gateway to Beaver Creek. It was founded to support the nearby mining community. Then, in the early 1900s, the primary crop became head lettuce.

Throughout the years, Avon has produced hay, cattle, potatoes, lettuce, peas, oats and sheep.

It became more synonymous with the ski industry in the late 1970s. Since then, Avon has been a thriving part of many a skier’s winter vacation.
