2015 Music Lineup

Dan Treanor’s Afrosippi Band featuring Erica Brown:

Dan Treanor's Afrosippi Band featuring Erica Brown deliver an incendiary mixture of Blues, Roots and Soul. Showcasing Ms. Brown's powerhouse, emotionally charged vocals and Treanor's African based grooves and searing harp, the band covers a wide swath of the Blues landscape. From a down home Field Hollar to a 'smooth as silk' ballad, the Afrosippians light up the stage with their passion and musicianship. Michael Hossler - guitar, Jack Erwin - bass and Scott Headley - drums are consummate pros that bring a remarkable blues based vibe to each song. Vocalist, Merrian Johnson adds a remarkable second voice to the mix. Treanor (2012 KBA recipient) and Brown are veteran entertainers and their electrifying stage show reflects this. This act is all about blues, class and soul. The band took home 3rd place honors at the 2013 International Blues Challenge.

The Delta Sonics:

The Delta Sonics music takes a Chicago Blues base and seasons it with Swing, Delta, N’awlins R&B and some early Rock n' Roll. They were Westword’s best blues band in Denver the last four years (2011-2014) and have seven straight nominations. The band made the semi-finals in the Memphis International Blues Challenge in 2012 after defeating 30 other Colorado bands. The band has also played in Kansas City, St. Louis and New Orleans among other cities.

Al Chesis supplies vocals & foot stomping showmanship but it's his harmonica playing that grabs you. He has been a Hohner endorser since 1992. Bob Pellegrino supplies the dazzling, sliding guitar and a smooth as silk voice. Bob was the Colorado Blues Society’s best slide guitar player in 2013 and 2014. John Butler on bass and Willie Panker from New Orleans on drums ‘drive the bus’ with over 60 years of R&B between them!

The Sonics have been THE Mile Hi ‘go-to’ band for touring Blues national acts for nearly 15 yrs. The band has backed national blues acts like Big Bill Morganfield, Steadyrollin Bob Margolin, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Lurie Bell, the late Pinetop Perkins, & the late Bo Diddley and were picked to open for BB King in 2012 and 2014.

Dumpstaphunk stands out among New Orleans' best as one of the funkiest bands to ever arise from the Crescent City. Born on the Jazz & Heritage Festival stage, and descended from Neville family bloodlines, these soldiers of funk ignite a deep, gritty groove that dares listeners not to move. Their performances combine ingenious musicianship and complex funk and jazz arrangements with soulful melodies that are simple enough for anyone to enjoy. In Big Easy tradition, dueling baselines from Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III set off one of the dirtiest rhythm sections on the planet, while Ivan Neville lights up the Hammond B3 keys and cousin Ian Neville’s funky guitar riffs send the groove into overdrive. The band recently welcomed their newest member, Alvin Ford Jr. to the quintet, a New Orleans born and raised powerhouse drummer.  Dumpstaphunk tosses around lead vocals and four-part harmonies the way Sly & the Family Stone did, but with three studio albums under their belt, Dumpstaphunk stands on the merit of their own material. Songs like “Dancin’ To The Truth” off their latest record, Dirty Word (July 30, 2013, Louisiana Red Hot Records), offer an escape into the funky sublime, sharing the true spirit of New Orleans with every note.
