World Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition
Opening Day, November 23, 2011
The world-famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition takes place on opening day. Five finalists bake 1,000 cookies each and serve them in the village until supplies run out. Guests have the opportunity to sample all of the cookies and vote for their favorite.
The 30th Annual Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition

Celebrate the holidays with the Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event includes carolers, a poetry contest, fireworks and a visit from Santa all taking place around the village ice rink. At the conclusion of this event, head to the Vilar for a free holiday film. In conjunction with this event, stop into Ford Hall and feast your eyes on the entries for the Gingerbread House Competition.
Audi Birds of Prey World Cup

On the heels of a winning season, World Championship gold medalist and reigning overall giant slalom champion Ted Ligety will return to the spectator-friendly Birds of Prey World Cup at Beaver Creek to defend his 2010 GS victory Dec. 2-4, 2011. The 2011 lineup offers a Downhill, Super G and Giant Slalom, and is the only domestic stop for the U.S. men on one of the world's toughest courses. Every race counts leading up to the 2015 World Alpine Championships being held at Beaver Creek/Vail, and the U.S. men's alpine team is hunting for a gold.

Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series

Take your snowshoeing to new heights as a beginner or a world class level snowshoer for the Snowshoe Adventure Series which features competitive 5K and 10K events as well as the Kids' 1K. In addition to renowned alpine skiing, Beaver Creek is home to 20K of designated Nordic and snowshoe trails in McCoy Park, located at 10,000 feet and surrounded by stunning mountain ranges. The series includes a cash purse and participants may enter one or all of the events. In addition to snowshoe demos and sponsor booths, competitors enjoy a post-race party in the village.

Ski 13 Black Diamond and Double-Black Diamond runs in one day; 24,000+ vertical feet await on Beaver Creek’s legendary World Cup Birds of Prey downhill course, in Larkspur Bowl and on the flanks of Grouse Mountain. Participants return year after year and come from all over to earn a spot on the electronic wall of fame at Red Tail Camp. This winter Talons will now be a draw for young rippers who will be rewarded with their own new Kids Talons Challenge on Sunday.
