World Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition
Opening Day, November 25, 2009
The world-famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition takes place on Beaver Creek Mountain’s Opening Day, Nov. 25. Five finalists bake 1,000 cookies each and serve them in the village at 2 p.m. until supplies run out. Guests have the opportunity to sample all of the cookies and vote for their favorite, which then becomes the resort’s official Cookie Time recipe.
Audi Birds of Prey FIS World Cup
December 4-6, 2009
The road to Vancouver 2010 runs straight through Beaver Creek and the countdown is underway for the only stop in the United States on the men’s alpine World Cup circuit. Birds of Prey provides US fans with the best preview of Olympic contenders on their home turf. The race includes the premier event Men’s Downhill on Friday, a Super Combined event on Saturday, followed by a Giant Slalom on Sunday. Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety leads the charge along with World Cup winners Marco Sullivan and Steve Nyman who have found success at Beaver Creek.

The Talons Challenge

Ski 13 Black Diamond and Double-Black Diamond runs in one day. The Talons Challenge is a showcase of the best steeps Beaver Creek has to offer; 24,000+ vertical feet await on Beaver Creek’s legendary World Cup Birds of Prey downhill course, in Larkspur Bowl and on the flanks of Grouse Mountain. Skiers and riders of all ages and abilities are encouraged to test their skills and stamina. Post-event enjoy après and great prize giveaways. Space is limited.
Beaver Creek Master Chef Classic presented by Bon Appetit

Beaver Creek celebrates all things culinary with Bon Appetit Magazine. The Classic features the Master Chef Challenge (similar to the Iron Chef competition) on Friday night and the ever-popular Grand Tasting on Saturday night. Also don’t miss a full lineup of tastings, seminars and cooking classes that celebrate culinary delights and offerings from Beaver Creek chefs as well as renowned guest chefs Joey Campanaro, Cat Cora, Ming Tsai, TOJO, Francois Payard and more.

Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Competition

The seventh annual Fantasy Gingerbread competition and the 29th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and fireworks display will kick off the holiday season in Beaver Creek. Vail Film Festival, presented by Vail and Beaver Creek

Due to the Vail Film Festival’s successful growth over the past several years, the event is expanding to Beaver Creek. This year the Vilar Performing Arts Center and Ford Hall will host some of the films as well as the closing awards ceremony. Easter Eggstravaganza

Beaver Creek’s annual Easter celebration includes sunrise service on the mountain followed Eggstravaganza at Creekside Park. Kids can enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny as well as an Easter egg hunt and parents will have plenty of photo opportunities of their kids.
