Vail Film Festival Presented by Vail and Beaver Creek

April 1-4, 2010

Presented by the Vail Film Institute, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering independent cinema, the Vail Film Festival strives to encourage artistic innovation and promote new and creative film making. World premieres, independents, celebrities, forums and parties make this an event that should not be missed.

Due to the Vail Film Festival’s successful growth over the past several years, the event is expanding to Beaver Creek. This year the Vilar Performing Arts Center and Ford Hall will host some of the films as well as the closing awards ceremony.

Film screenings will start Thursday evening and continue throughout the day and evening Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Screenings take place in Vail and Beaver Creek.

Thursday, April 1
Opening Night Film, 7:30pm, Vail Mountain School

Opening Night Party 9:30pm, Vail Plaza Hotel
Enjoy Festival Opening Night with cocktails and appetizers at the Vail Plaza Hotel. Casual attire.

Friday, April 2
Hospitality Lounge 12pm – 6pm, Vail Plaza Hotel and Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Come relax and mingle with filmmakers and festival attendees at our Hospitality Lounges and enjoy complimentary drinks while listening to live music, catching a panel discussion or screenplay reading.

Festival Music Café 3:30pm – 5:30pm, Hospitality Lounge
Come relax and listen to live music by amazing singer-songwriters from LA’s acclaimed Hotel Café

Vail Film Festival Panel Discussion 2pm – 3:30pm, Hospitality Lounge

Ski fresh tracks before the mountain opens to the public.

Screenplay Readings 12pm – 1:15pm, Hospitality Lounge
Come listen to the winning screenplays from our 4th annual screenplay contest.

Festival Music Café 2pm - 4pm, Hospitality Lounge
Come relax and listen to live music by some amazing singer-songwriters from LA’s acclaimed Hotel Café.

Awards Ceremony 5pm – 6pm, Vilar Center, Beaver Creek
Awards to filmmakers in all categories, and tribute awards to outstanding actors and filmmakers.

Closing Night Film 8pm, Vilar Center, Beaver Creek

Festival Closing Party 10pm, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek
The festival culminates at Saturday Night’s VIP Party. Enjoy drinks and appetizers at the Park Hyatt Hotel. Festive attire.

Sunday, April 4
Last day to catch films. The winners of Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Audience Award, Best Short Film, Best Student Film and Best Adventure Film will be played.
