Snowshoe Series

The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series draws first-time snowshoers, world class snowshoe athletes, kids of all ages and everyone in between.

The snowshoe series features slopeside sponsor expos and a post-event plaza party for all participants to enjoy a variety of giveaways and a post-race meal. Arrive early on race day to demo Atlas Snowshoes at the start/finish area, or head to the Beaver Creek Nordic Center to rent snowshoes.

Childcare resources will not be offered this year due to lack of demand.

Vail Global Energy Forum

Twilight Snowshoe & Pizza Party

A guided snowshoe trek after sundown lets teens experience the mountain in a whole different light! Teens will meet and mingle as they explore the mountain and get together for pizza in the Nordic Center. Snowshoe equipment and headlamps will be provided. Throughout his impressive recording career -- from his stunning 1985 debut to this latest album Mr. Lucky -- Chris Isaak has tunefully and artfully explored the good, the bad and the ugly of love, as well as other matters of profound human interest. He has done so with an abiding respect for popular music’s past, but at the same time with clear and vital passion for the here and now.

Like some of Isaak’s best known past compositions, such as his international breakthrough smash “Wicked Game,” “Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing” and “Somebody’s Crying,” the songs on Mr. Lucky have a deeply felt sense of the consequences of good love gone bad, and bad love gone good.

From the beginning, Isaak has earned his good luck the hard way -- by consistently delivering excellent work, both onstage and in the studio on a series of accomplished albums from Silvertone (1985), Chris Isaak (1986), Heart Shaped World (1989), San Francisco Days (1993), Forever Blue (1995), the largely acoustic Baja Sessions (1996), Speak of the Devil (1998), Always Got Tonight (2002), the seasonal-themed Christmas, the Best of Chris Isaak compilation (2006) and 2009’s Mr. Lucky.

“I’ve been together with most of the guys in the band for 25 years now and I still look forward to playing with them every night -- and even sharing the bus with them on the way to the next gig. Then to make things even better, when we play, wonderful people turn up to see us -- it’s like having a hometown wherever we go,” said Isaak.

In between recording albums and touring, Isaak has used his famously sly, self-deprecating wit and matinee idol looks to enjoy a whole second life onscreen. He has appeared in numerous films including: “Married To The Mob,” “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” Tom Hanks’ rock ‘n’ roll movie “That Thing You Do” and the Academy Award-winning “Silence Of The Lambs.”

At long last, Baby Bird emerges from her shell and expects to be greeted by her mother’s song. But her mother is not there. Where is she? Why isn’t she home?

Not knowing that her mother has left the nest to gather food, Baby Bird decides to find her. While searching, Baby Bird meets an array of colorful characters - Cat, Dog and Hen - each of whom she greets with the simple plea: are you my mother? Unfortunately for Baby Bird, neither Cat nor Dog nor Hen turns out to be her mother.

Baby Bird, however, is persistent. She is determined to find her mother no matter what. Her courage is bolstered by the unlikely “family” of characters who are ready to lend a paw or a wing to help their friend.

Ragnar Relay Stop
