The Rocky Mountains provide an incredible venue for recreation of all sorts. For those who are looking to take it to the next level or those who just want to get out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, Beaver Creek hosts a wide array of triathlons, running and biking events each summer.
Summer Solstice Trail Run
June 24, 2017
Kick off the summer at Creekside Park in Beaver Creek with a 5K or 10K trail running race benefitting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Bring the kids to participate in the free Kids Fun Run! Following the race, racers are invited to enjoy food provided by a local restaurant and live entertainment in Creekside Park. Awards will be presented to the top three men and top three women in each age category for 10K runners. Prizes will also be given to the top three men and top three women in the Open, Amatuer and Masters 5k categories.
Triple Bypass Ride
July 8 & 9, 2017
The Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride is recognized as one of the premier cycling events for those who DARE! Celebrating the 29th Anniversary of the Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride, the Triple offers two days of enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains on your bike.
On Saturday, July 8th, 2017, the Triple Bypass ride heads WEST from Evergreen and concludes in Avon over three mountain passes. The ride is 120 miles from Evergreen (Bergen Park) over Juniper Pass (11,140ft), Loveland Pass (11,990 ft), Swan Mountain and Vail Pass (10,560 ft), concluding in Avon. The ride has over 10,000 ft of challenging elevation gain! On Sunday, July 9th, the Triple Bypass heads EAST, starting in Avon, over 3 mountain passes, ending in Evergreen. For those truly interested in a heart-pounding experience, riders are able to complete both ride days in the “Double Triple Bypass.”
Beaver Creek XTERRA Mountain Championship & XTERRA Trail Run

July 15th - XTERRA Mountain Championship Off-Road Triathlon
Swim, mountain bike and run, starting in Avon's Nottingham Lake and finishing in Beaver Creek. The XTERRA triathlon event is open to all ability levels with individual and team categories.
July 16th – XTERRA Trail Run (5km/10km/20km)
Trail runs in Colorado can be a breathtaking experience in more ways than one, and the XTERRA Beaver Creek Trail Run is no exception. This year’s XTERRA Beaver Creek Trail Run will hit the trails for 5K, 10K and 20K runs through aspen glades, along skyways and singletracks, returning to the base of Beaver Creek Village for the post-race party! There is an elevation gain of approximately 700 feet for the 5K, and 1,300 feet for the 10K. It will follow the same trails as the XTERRA Mountain Championship off-road triathlon.
Colorado-Eagle River Ride

The SOS Outreach Colorado-Eagle River Ride is a premier event in the Vail Valley benefiting the youth development non-profit SOS Outreach. The ride loops from Beaver Creek Resort out along the scenic banks of the Colorado and Eagle Rivers, including the famous hard-packed dirt portion of the Colorado River Road. There are multiple routes to suit each rider’s ability including a 100 mile, 68 mile and 42 mile.
Beaver Creek Half Marathon, 10k & 5k

The Bold but Beautiful... The 700' climb in the 1st mile and half will take your breath away... literally. Once on top you won’t be disappointed!
The Beaver Creek Half Marathon, 10K and 5k will start and finish in the beautiful Creekside Park in Beaver Creek. The trail courses are run on both single track and dirt road trail with a total elevation gain of 1400' feet for the Half Marathon, 700' for the 10K and an estimated 400’ for the 5k.

This August, team and solo runners will take on the Colorado Rockies for a trail running experience like no other. During the six days of the PepsiCo TransRockies Run, runners from all over the world will run, eat and live together as they cover 120 miles of spectacular scenery, fully supported by a dedicated and professional Event Team who will look after all aspects of their food, accommodations and on-course support.
The PepsiCo TransRockies Run course runs from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek, through the heart of the White River and San Isabel National Forests. The course includes a mix of singletrack and forest road with nearly 20,000 feet of elevation gain, reaching altitudes of over 12,500 ft.
Beaver Creek Blast Bike Race

The 2017 VRD Westin Athletic Club Mountain Bike Race Series returns for its 34th year to offer fun and exciting racing to mountain bikers of all ages and experience levels. This summer over 1,750 riders of all ages and ability levels will compete for $5,200 in cash and $30,000 in prizes. Whether competing in an individual race or signing up for the entire series, racers have the chance to win prizes, free beer and personal glory.
Beaver Creek Mountain is host to the final race in the 7 event Vail Rec District Mountain Bike Race Series. On August 23rd over a hundred riders will tackle the longest course in the series before celebrating a great season of cycling at the post race party.
August 25 & 26, 2017
Ragnar Relay is the overnight running relay race that makes testing your limits a team sport. You and 11 of your craziest friends (or 5 of your crazier friends for an ultra team) pile into two vans and tag team running 200(ish) miles, day and night, relay-style. Only one runner hits the road at a time. Each participant runs three times, with each leg ranging between 3-8 miles and varying in difficulty. So, from the elite runner down to the novice jogger, it's the perfect race for anyone.

Work off those brats & beers from the annual Oktoberfest weekend - all for a great cause! Join us for the 11th Annual Oktoberfest Shuffle, a walk, hike, or run over your choice of a 5 km or 10 km course across the scenic trails of Beaver Creek Mountain. Families can also participate in the free Family Fun K, a 1km fun run. In true Oktoberfest style, paid participants receive a complimentary beer and brat! The first 200 paid participants also receive a special gift.
Race registration and start/finish are located in Centennial Park, at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain. All registration proceeds benefit the Vail Valley Charitable Fund.
