What to Know for Beaver Creek Opening Weekend

The day we’ve all been waiting for is almost here – Beaver Creek Opening Day is November 27th! Get ready for perfectly groomed slopes, the beloved 3 PM Cookie Time, and a vibrant village experience. As you plan your trip to celebrate the start of our winter season, here are some tips and tricks to best enjoy the Opening Weekend festivities.
Beaver Creek Cookie Competition starts at 1 PM on November 27th (Opening Day)! Make your way to our village core for a chance to vote for the best chocolate chip cookie, with official judging ballots released every half hour, with the last wave at 4 PM. Each Baker has artfully prepared 1,000 official cookies for 1,000 official judges. Got little ones? Kids 6 and under will receive a “Judges in Training” sticker and will be served Beaver Creek’s classic “cookie time” chocolate chip cookies.
Dine at one of Beaver Creek’s culinary destinations for a festive Thanksgiving feast. After a day on the slopes, what could be better than a turkey dinner? Be sure to reserve your Thanksgiving dinner in advance, as restaurants like Charter Steakhouse and Splendido at the Chateau will feature special holiday menus for you and your family. The holiday season at Beaver Creek officially kicks off on Friday with the much-anticipated Tree Lighting and Ice Spectacular! When the evening settles in, gather around the ice rink in the center of the village for our live music and ice-skating spectacular. Have older kids looking for their own adventure? Send them to Hawk’s Nest Cabin from 3:30 PM – 9 PM for an unforgettable experience! They can dive into video games, sip on craft "mocktails”, test their skills on a custom ski simulator, and much more.
