Posted December 1, 2022

Beaver Creek's Xfinity Birds of Prey World Cup races kick off TOMORROW! Here's all you need to know to experience this signature Beaver Creek event.

Schedule

Know the schedule for this year's event! Be prepared - races kick off slightly earlier than in previous years. The race schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, Dec. 2, 2022: Downhill, 10:15 a.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022: Downhill, 10 a.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022: Super G, 10 a.m.

Fans are encouraged to allow one hour of travel time from the base of Beaver Creek Resort to Red Tail Stadium to avoid missing any of the action.

Watch from Red Tail Stadium

The Birds of Prey Racecourse has a mid-mountain finish and all race events are free and open to the public. Public concessions and restrooms are available.

Watch from the Village

New this year, a special viewing area will be available for spectators in Birds of Prey Way within Beaver Creek Village with big-screens showing the live action from the hill. Food and drinks will be available in the ice rink area of Beaver Creek Village, with sponsor booths, giveaways and more throughout the day.

Getting to Red Tail Stadium: Skiing

Thanks to the incredible work of the Beaver Creek Resort on-mountain team, and a little help from Mother Nature, fans can enjoy ski-in, ski-out access to Red Tail Stadium starting Friday via Red Tail Trail into the venue, and exit via the Birds of Prey Express Lift or Dally back down to Beaver Creek Village.

Due to Red Tail Trail being used by the ski racers each day to warm up before the races, the trail will not open to the public until 10 a.m. and will close at 1 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Red Tail Trail will be closed to the public on Thursday. Red Tail Trail is an intermediate run into the venue, and Dally is a beginner trail out – with Birds of Prey Express Lift taking skiers and snowboarders back up the mountain.

Getting to Red Tail Stadium: Bus Transportation

Free race shuttles depart from the Covered Bridge in Beaver Creek often throughout race days. From the race-finish drop off area, there is a five-minute on-snow walk to Red Tail Stadium. Please allow one hour of travel time from the base of Beaver Creek Resort to Red Tail Stadium to avoid missing any of the action! ADA access to the venue is available upon request. Contact ADA Transport/Bus Supervisor at 970.470.2269.

We can't wait to welcome you to the speediest weekend at Beaver Creek!
